SQL Server Core Operations & Services

We define central or core SQL Server operations as TSQL coding of database objects like tables, views, stored procedures and functions.

Core operations also facilitate process automations with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), PowerShell and SharePoint. Integrating these applications to produce superb solutions is part of our specialty. SQL Server core operations is a service where we really shine.

TSQL Coding, Stored Procedure and Function Creation and Usage

SQL Server Core Operations

As a member of the Microsoft Partner Network we are experts in developing solutions using the Microsoft Transact Structured Query Language (T-SQL). We use TSQL to develop SQL Server tables, views, stored procedures, functions, common table expressions (CTE) and many other coding constructs to support your business's needs. We utilize new features of the TSQL programming language to such as merge, try-catch, common table expressions (CTE) to efficiently process information in new ways to eliminate and minimize coding efforts. We also utilize these new coding features to trap errors and log them in database code to enable detailed insight in TSQL code in ways not easily seen before. We do not use new features because they are new.

Application Code Migrations, Rebuilds and Coding Upgrades

On many occasions we build TSQL solutions to support application rebuilds, upgrades and enhancements. These TSQL solutions are often part of application coding projects. We work in concern with Microsoft .net application developers to ensure database and application logic is consistent. We work tirelessly to produce quality results that are accurate, repeatable and timely. We follow industry standards for 3rd normal form design and ACID properties. ACID properties are defined as Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability. These properties are defined further as:

Atomicity is defined as the requirement that each transaction is 'all or nothing', 'pass or fail all'. If one part of the transaction fails, the entire transaction fails, and the state of the database is left unaltered. An atomic system must guarantee atomicity in each and every situation or transaction.

Consistency is defined as a property that ensures that any transaction will bring the database from one valid state to another. Any data written to the database must be valid according to all defined database rules. This does not guarantee the correct nature of the data manipulation contained within the transaction.

Isolation is defined as a property that ensures the concurrent execution of transactions results in a data state which would be found if transactions were executed correctly and serially. Maintaining isolation is the primary goal of concurrency control.

Durability means that once a transaction has been committed, it will remain so, even in the event of failures. In a RDBMS database, once a series of SQL statements execute, the results need to be stored permanently (even if the database crashes immediately thereafter).

These are principals that are required to be fulfilled in all of the applications and coding projects we engage in. These are universal requirements that we ensure are baked in from the start of all of our design patterns and models.

Process Automations with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), PowerShell and SharePoint

In our experience we have very often come across solutions that did not require an elaborate or fancy user interface (UI). In fact we take pride in being able to design creative solutions at a minimum of expense for businesses. One way in particular we can provide solutions that exemplify exceptional value is through process automation. Rarely have we engaged a business and not been able to quickly ascertain a handful of daily manual processes that are currently draining man hours that could be quickly automated. We use tools such as SharePoint, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and PowerShell to automate mundane manual processes. We have dozens of examples of document management, data review, data consolidation, data cleansing, report consolidation, data migration between systems and many more for which we have created process automations. Verifications, reporting and email alerting are all incorporated in our process automations to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

We feel strongly that our collective SQL Server core operations skillset is a key differentiator for Leale Solutions. We have extensive experience build quality solutions that are of the highest data integrity. We utilize new features where they provide the best value but rely on the tried and true principles of industry standard designs and protocols to ensure continuity to your team upon completion.
